Punjab Guv Gulab Chand Kataria urges Centre to boost international flights from Chandigarh airport

Punjab Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria met Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu.

New Delhi, July 18: Punjab Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria met Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. During this, he emphasised the need to further strengthen domestic and international air connectivity from Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Chandigarh.

Governor Kataria said that this airport is an important gateway for the residents of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh and the number of people traveling from here is constantly increasing. In such a situation, it is very important to increase air connectivity keeping in mind the needs of this region.

He particularly demanded direct international flights from Chandigarh Airport, so that tourism can be promoted, business travel can be facilitated and the economic aspirations of this region can be strengthened.

This meeting was held in New Delhi yesterday, in which the Governor urged to take rapid steps towards better air connectivity for regional development.
