Punjab: Police in Punjab on Thursday claimed to busted an illegal arms smuggling module and arrested two persons and recovered four pistols from their processions, officials said.
DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav sharing the details in his post on X, wrote “In a swift intelligence-led operation, Counter Intelligence #Pathankot busts an illegal arms smuggling module and apprehends two persons, Kanwalpreet Singh @ Kanwar & Ranjit Singh, and recovers four pistols along with ammunition.”
“Preliminary investigations reveal that Kanwalpreet was in contact with #USA-based Gangster Pavitter Singh Chaurra, who arranged this consignment. An FIR under Section 25 of the Arms Act & 61(2) BNS has been registered at #SSOC Amritsar. Further investigations are underway to trace backward and forward linkages and dismantle the entire network.”
“Recovery: 4 pistols alongwith ammunition. Details: One Glock Pistol 9MM alongwith 01 magazine and 15 bullets of 9MM, One Pistol 30 bore alongwith 01 magazine and 09 bullets of 30 bore & Two pistols 32 bore alongwith 02 magazines and 15 bullets of 32 bore. @PunjabPoliceInd is committed to taking strict action against organized crime and illegal weapons trafficking, working to uncover all forward and backward linkages within the network.”
