Chandigarh, June 15: In a significant breakthrough, the State Special Cell of Punjab Police has successfully foiled a major target killing plot allegedly orchestrated by Canada-based terrorist Arsh Dala. The operation led to the arrest of two key operatives, Kawaljit Singh, a resident of Dharamkot, and Navdeep Singh alias Hani, from Badduwal.
According to preliminary investigations, the arrested individuals were acting under direct instructions from Arsh Dala with plans to eliminate rival gang members and extortion targets. The arrests have effectively dismantled a targeted killing module, preventing a serious threat to public safety.
During the operation, the SSOC recovered a Zigana .30 bore pistol along with nine live catridges. An FIR has been registered at Police Station SSOC. SAS Nagar, under relevent legal provisions. Authorities are now working to uncover both forward and backward linkages of the criminal network.
The Punjab Police reaffirmed its firm resolve to combat organized crime and maintain peace and harmony across the state. Further investigations are underway.
