Rain-snowfall bring relief in Himachal; Temperature drops sharply

The weather in many areas of Himachal Pradesh has remained bad since this morning. According to the Meteorological Department, many areas of Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmour and Solan districts may receive rain today.

During the last 24 hours also, most parts of the state have received rain.

There has been fresh snowfall on the high peaks of Lahaul Spiti including Atal Tunnel Rohtang. After snowfall on the North and South portals of Atal Tunnel, tourists were alerted through loudspeakers and sent back to Manali.

The people of the state have got relief from the heat after the rain and snowfall. Due to this, the temperature of many cities has dropped to 11 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.

Bhuntar’s mercury dropped to 10.8 degrees

The maximum temperature of Bhuntar has dropped by 10.8 degrees in the last 24 hours. After this, the temperature of Bhuntar has remained at 22.6 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of Kangra has also dropped to 24.8 degrees after a drop of 10.2 degrees in a day.

Kangra’s temperature dropped by 10.2 degrees in 24 hours

The temperature of Shimla’s famous tourist place Narkanda dropped by 8.2 degrees to 12.8 degrees, the mercury of Bajaura in Kullu dropped by 9.4 degrees to 22.8 degrees, Manali dropped by 6.6 degrees to 14.6 degrees, Mandi dropped by 5.9 degrees to 26.8 degrees, the maximum temperature of Bilaspur dropped by 5.1 degrees during the last 24 hours to 30.3 degrees Celsius.

37 mm rain in Dharamsala

During the last 24 hours, Dharamsala has received the maximum rainfall of 37.0 mm. Dalhousie has received 21 mm rainfall, Shimla and Kangra have received 7 mm rainfall each. On the other hand, fresh snowfall has occurred on the high peaks of Lahaul Spiti. The tourists are delighted to see snowfall even in the second week of April.
