Temperatures rise before rain and snowfall

A rise in temperature has been recorded before the rain and snowfall. The average maximum temperature of the state has increased by 4.8 degrees Celsius above normal. The temperature of Kangra has increased by the maximum of 7.9 degrees compared to normal and has reached 26.0 degrees Celsius.

The temperature of Bhuntar increased by 6.8 degrees to 24.8 degrees, Sundernagar increased by 6.1 degrees to 26.6 degrees, Bilaspur increased by 5.0 degrees to 26.7 degrees, Kalpa increased by 5.4 degrees to 12.0 degrees and the maximum temperature of Shimla increased by 4.1 degrees than normal to 17.4 degrees.

79 percent less rain than normal

According to the Meteorological Department, the current winter season, i.e. between January 1 and February 17, has received 79 percent less rainfall than normal. The normal rainfall during this period is 142.1 mm, but this time only 29.6 mm of rain has fallen.

Even in the post monsoon season, there was 90% less rainfall

Earlier in the post monsoon season, the state had received 90 percent less rainfall than the average and 19 percent less rainfall during the monsoon. Apart from the wheat crop, apple orchards are also facing its brunt. Himachal’s tourism businessmen are also disappointed due to the lack of snowfall.
