Mumbai: Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, now a new father, took a moment to reflect on his career as his debut film, “Band Baaja Baaraat,” marks its 14th anniversary. He shared highlights from the film on his Instagram stories, expressing gratitude and recalling how it was the moment his dreams came true.

“Band Baaja Baaraat,” released in 2010 and directed by Maneesh Sharma, is a romantic comedy where Ranveer stars alongside Anushka Sharma. The film follows their characters, Shruti Kakkar and Bittoo Sharma, as they launch a wedding planning business. A Tamil remake titled “Aaha Kalyanam,” featuring Nani and Vaani Kapoor, was released in 2014.

After his debut, Ranveer appeared in “Ladies Vs Ricky Behl” and received acclaim for his role as a troubled thief in “Lootera.” His big break came in 2013 with a series of successful collaborations with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, starting with “Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela” and continuing with “Bajirao Mastani” (2015) and “Padmaavat” (2018).

Ranveer has since starred in a variety of films, including “Simmba,” “Gully Boy,” “83,” and “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.” He is married to fellow Bollywood star Deepika Padukone and is set to appear in an upcoming espionage thriller directed by Aditya Dhar, where he will portray an R&AW agent.

The project was announced in July, with Ranveer expressing excitement for this new direction in his career on Instagram, promising fans a unique cinematic experience. The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande from Jio Studios, alongside Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar under B62 Studios, following their successful collaboration on “Article 370.” The cast includes notable actors such as Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal.

Ranveer’s most recent release is “Singham Again,” directed by Rohit Shetty, which features a star-studded lineup, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor in a negative role.
