Chandigarh: After 14 years, the Haryana government has provided significant relief to government employees concerning advances and loans. The state government has increased the limits for advances and loans intended for purposes such as home construction, marriage expenses, and the purchase of vehicles and computers.

This adjustment marks the first increase since November 22, 2010, during the administration of former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda. With this new decision, government employees can now obtain an advance of up to Rs 25 lakh for constructing a house, an increase from the previous limit of Rs 20 lakh.

Additionally, employees can secure a loan of Rs 3 lakh for the marriage of their son or daughter. The loan amounts for purchasing vehicles and computers have also been elevated. Anurag Rastogi, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, has issued instructions to all administrative secretaries, heads of departments, the Registrar of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and Sub-Divisional Officers (Civil) regarding these increased advance amounts.

A government employee will get advance of up to Rs 25 lakh only once in his entire service period. Home housing allowance will be given to only one person (husband or wife). The interest rate will be equal to General Provident Fund (GPF). For buying a house, 34 months basic salary or maximum Rs 25 lakh, whichever is less, will be given.

For building a house, 60 percent of the total approved amount of advance i.e. 20 months basic salary in any pay matrix and maximum Rs 15 lakh will be given. After this, the remaining Rs 10 lakh will be given for building a house on the same plot.
