Mumbai: Rozlyn Khan, a stage 4 cancer survivor, has accused actress Hina Khan of spreading misinformation about her cancer journey and using her treatment as a means of gaining publicity.
Hina Khan has been open about her battle with cancer, regularly sharing updates on social media with her fans. However, in a recent interview with leading news portal, Rozlyn Khan criticised Hina for exaggerating her situation and withholding crucial details about her treatment. Rozlyn, who is herself a stage 4 cancer survivor, claimed Hina’s statements could mislead others.
Rozlyn questioned Hina’s claims about undergoing a 15-hour mastectomy, stating such a procedure was “impossible.” She explained, “My surgery lasted 8 to 10 hours because I was at stage four, and 16 lymph nodes were removed. It was a major surgery. Hina Khan claimed her surgery went on for 15 hours, but she hasn’t clarified what type of surgery it was, whether it was an MRM or otherwise.”
Rozlyn further accused Hina of using her cancer journey for publicity, suggesting that her actions could potentially harm others. She criticised Hina for travelling extensively while undergoing treatment, adding, “Cancer patients are advised to avoid crowded places during chemotherapy. Patients could face complications if they follow her example.”
She also expressed concerns over the lack of transparency in Hina’s public accounts, stating, “She focuses more on herself and her bravery rather than the treatments she is receiving. She keeps everything vague. I even doubt whether she is at stage 3. There is no law in India against spreading misinformation about medical procedures or treatments, and people are exploiting this.”
Rozlyn Khan is an actor and model who has fought a challenging battle against stage 4 cancer. Hina Khan, who revealed her diagnosis in 2024, has since been documenting her journey and sharing her experiences with her followers on social media.
