Los Angeles: Hollywood star and singer Selena Gomez, who started her career as a child actress, has revealed that one of her biggest pet peeves is people who are late.
In a recent interview with W Magazine, Gomez expressed her dislike for being treated differently due to her fame. She stated, “I don’t like how people treat other people if they treat me differently. I notice those things very quickly. I have wonderful friends outside the industry, and I pay close attention to how people treat them.”
Gomez was recently seen alongside Karla Sofía Gascon and Zoe Saldana in the film Emilia Perez, where she embraced the challenge of acting in Spanish. She mentioned, “I was extremely proud to speak Spanish. I was nervous, but I’ve released a whole album in Spanish before, so I’m more comfortable singing in that language. Doing an entire film was a bit intimidating.”
Additionally, Gomez noted her preference for not being the center of attention. She enjoys working with collaborative filmmakers, such as Jacques Audiard, who directed Emilia Perez. She shared with Variety, “I’ve never wanted to be the center of attention, so I love working with filmmakers that make it feel collaborative. Jacques was like a little kid, getting excited when we did something right, even if I couldn’t understand him half the time. I appreciated that.”
The 32-year-old artist is eager to challenge herself as an actress, stating, “I have been acting and singing my whole life, but this is all a new experience for me. I’m really proud of the choices I’ve made because I go for the parts that scare me a little. That’s the rush I crave.”
