Mumbai: Actress Shruti Haasan and Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan have arrived in Jaipur, the pink city, to start shooting their upcoming film ‘Coolie’.
This highly anticipated movie features Tamil cinema legend Rajinikanth in the lead role and has generated significant excitement since its announcement. It marks the first collaboration between Shruti and Aamir, creating a buzz among fans eager to see their on-screen chemistry.
Sources indicate that Shruti has already commenced filming alongside Aamir in Jaipur. She has been actively involved in the project, having previously shot scenes in Vizag and Chennai. With Aamir joining the cast, expectations for the film have reached new heights.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for hits like ‘Vikram’, ‘Kaithi’, and ‘Leo’, the team is currently engaged in an intensive 10-day shoot in Jaipur, focusing on key scenes. ‘Coolie’ is set to be a captivating cinematic experience, promising a compelling narrative and outstanding performances.
The film also features Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Reba Monica John, and others in significant roles. The technical team includes composer Anirudh Ravichander, editor Philomin Raj, and cinematographer Girish Gangadharan.
Produced by Sun Pictures, ‘Coolie’ is expected to have a grand release in 2025.
Shruti, the daughter of Tamil cinema icons Kamal Haasan and actress Sarika Thakur, is also a well-known playback singer. She has lent her voice to Hindi films like ‘Aazma’ from ‘Luck’, ‘Alvida’ from ‘D-Day’, and ‘Joganiyan’ from ‘Tevar’. She began her career as a music director with her father’s production ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’, winning the Best Music Director award at the Edison Awards for it. Last year, she released her single ‘Monster Machine’, a hard-edged industrial rock track celebrating a misfit attitude.
