Los Angeles: A devastating plane crash occurred in Fullerton, California, when a single-engine aircraft collided with a commercial building close to Fullerton Municipal Airport, about 25 miles southeast of Los Angeles. The tragic incident claimed the lives of two individuals and left 18 others injured, as reported by local authorities.

The Fullerton Police Department confirmed the deaths via a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, noting that 10 people were taken to nearby hospitals while eight others received treatment on-site. It remains unclear whether the deceased were on the plane or inside the building.

The crash, which took place on Thursday afternoon, involved a Van’s RV-10, a four-seat single-engine aircraft, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). An investigation into the incident has been initiated, but the cause of the crash is still unknown.

Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with one employee, Jerome Cruz, recounting, “All we heard was a loud noise, boom, and then we started running out,” during an interview with CBS News.

Television footage showed significant damage, including a large hole in the building’s roof with smoke billowing into the sky. Emergency crews quickly responded to control the fire and assist the injured.

This incident marks the second aviation accident near Fullerton Airport in recent months, following a November crash that resulted in injuries to two individuals. The recent events have raised concerns about safety measures in the area, as officials work to determine the details surrounding this tragedy. Further information is expected as the investigation continues.
