According to the weather department, there is a possibility of good rain and snowfall in most parts of the state today and tomorrow. Snowfall may also occur in tourist places like Kufri, Narkanda, Manali, Solang Valley, Dalhousie, Sissu and surrounding areas.

There is a possibility of good rain in Shimla city and surrounding areas from this afternoon till tomorrow evening. Cold wave alert has been issued in Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Mandi and Chamba. While a yellow alert has been issued for lightning in other districts except Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur.

Western disturbance will remain active for two days. Relief from drought like conditions is expected from this. Because this year in the state, first the monsoon was 19 percent less than normal, then in the post monsoon season (1 September to 30 November) also the clouds rained 98 percent less than normal. There has been a huge rise in temperature before the rain and snowfall. The temperature of many cities of the state has become higher than normal. Kalpa’s temperature has seen the maximum rise of 9.8 degrees and the maximum temperature of Kalpa has reached 15.3 degrees.

Shimla’s temperature is 9.5 degrees above normal

Similarly, the temperature of Shimla has also increased by 9.5 degrees compared to normal and has reached 21.5 degrees. The temperature of Manali has also increased by 6.4 degrees to 18.2 degrees and the temperature of Bhuntar has also increased by 7.3 degrees and reached 25.2 degrees.

According to the Meteorological Department, after rain and snowfall the temperature will decrease by 4 to 5 degrees.
