Punjab Players achieves great success in Asia Cup, Sports Minister Meet Hayer congratulates the winning players.

Two archers from Punjab, Simranjit Kaur and Preneet Kaur, won three gold and two silver medals in the ongoing Archery Asia Cup in Baghdad

Due to the good performance being shown day by day by the players of Punjab at the international level, the players of Punjab have achieved great success in archery, hockey and badminton. Two archers from Punjab, Simranjit Kaur and Preneet Kaur, won three gold and two silver medals in the ongoing Archery Asia Cup in Baghdad (Iraq).

Abohar’s Simranjit Kaur won two gold medals in the mixed team and women’s team and a silver medal in the individual category. Similarly, Mansa’s Praneet Kaur won gold medal in the individual category of compound and silver medal in the team category of compound.

FIH is running hockey game. India defeated Ireland 4-0 in the last match of the Indian leg of the Pro Hockey League.

In this league, the Indian team has played 8 matches so far and secured third place with 15 points. Now the Indian team will play the remaining eight matches of the European leg in May-June. The team includes 10 players from Punjab including captain Harmanpreet Singh.

In badminton, Dhruv Kapila of Ludhiana along with his partner Arjun won the men’s doubles title of Uganda International Challenge.

Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer congratulated the said Punjabi players on their victory and said that it is the result of their hard work and guidance from the coaches. He said that the new sports policy made on the guidelines of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has started showing concrete results.

He said that the players of Punjab are preparing vigorously for this year’s Paris Olympic Games and this time also a large number of Punjabi players will participate in the Olympics.
