Migrant worker arrests from Nepal border in Kapurthala

He had escaped after attacking the owner; and had also taken his bike and mobile with him.

Kapurthala: Subhanpur police station in subdivision Bhulath of Kapurthala district has arrested a migrant worker from the Nepal border. The accused worker had seriously injured his owner with a sharp weapon and escaped with his bike, mobile, and 4 thousand rupees. Police have also recovered a mobile and bike from the accused.

DSP Bhulath Surinder Pal said that the accused had hidden at his sister’s house on the Nepal border after committing the crime. When the police reached to catch him after tracing the location of the accused’s mobile with the help of a technical team, he was preparing to have a feast with alcohol.

Accused Raju, son of Ramu, a resident of Gorakhpur (UP), has been arrested from the border while trying to escape to Nepal. The accused has been working with Gurmej Singh resident of Khanpur for the last several years. Suddenly he got suspicious, and seeing Gurmeet Singh alone at night, Raju attacked him on his head with a sharp weapon and seriously injured him. He fled with his mobile, bike, and 4 thousand rupees.

DSP Bhullath Surinder Pal has appealed to the people to make them aware and check them thoroughly before hiring any servant. His ID proof and details must be registered at the concerned police station.

Gurmeet Singh, who was injured in the incident, had suffered serious head injuries. He is being treated in a private hospital in Jalandhar. The section of crime will be increased on the identification of the said accused by interrogating the treating doctor.
