Mumbai: Comedian Sunil Pal has reportedly gone missing, with his phone currently unreachable. After waiting for several hours, his wife went to the Santacruz police station in Mumbai on Tuesday in a state of distress.
She filed a missing person report, explaining that Sunil had gone to perform at a show outside Mumbai and was expected to return home on Tuesday but failed to do so.
The police are actively investigating the situation, gathering information about Sunil Pal from his acquaintances, including details about which shows he attended and who he interacted with.
Sunil Pal is a well-known Indian comedian, actor, and voice artist, recognized for his comedic roles in various Bollywood films. He gained fame as the winner of the inaugural season of “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.”
In 2010, he wrote and directed the comedy film “Bhavnao Ko Samjho,” featuring 51 stand-up comedians, including notable names like Siraj Khan, Johnny Lever, Raju Srivastav, Kapil Sharma, Navin Prabhakar, Ahsaan Qureshi, and Sudesh Lehri.
Sunil is known for his critical remarks about several established comedians in Bollywood, such as Kapil Sharma, Sunil Grover, Tanmay Bhat, and Rohan Joshi. He has expressed his discontent with Kapil Sharma’s move to Netflix for “The Great Indian Kapil Show.” Recently, he also criticized Sunil Grover’s portrayal of a woman on the show, calling it “cheap” and “vulgar.” He stated that he finds Grover’s character, Dafli, who dresses in a saree and engages in comedic behavior, to be “desperate” and distasteful, particularly regarding actions like sitting on people’s laps.
