Sunny Deol felt angry watching Bobby Deol beaten in ‘Animal’

Mumbai: Sunny Deol recently shared his thoughts on his brother Bobby Deol playing dark roles, particularly in the film Animal. Speaking at the event recently, Sunny revealed that Bobby had once asked him not to watch the Aashram web series, where he portrayed a controversial godman.

“When he was doing Aashram, he told me, ‘Bhaiya, please don’t watch it’,” Sunny recalled. He went on to praise Bobby’s performance as the menacing Abrar Haque in Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor. “We are actors — whether it’s a villain or hero, we must play all kinds of roles. It’s fun when we’re challenged with different characters,” Sunny said.

He noted that actors often get typecast, making it hard to break out of their set image. “Bobby got that chance, and he did really well,” he added. “I watched Animal and, being family, when they were beating him, I got really angry.”

Bobby’s intense performance, especially his viral dance to “Jamal Kudu”, marked a significant shift from his usual romantic and action roles, earning him praise for exploring a more layered character.
