Chandigarh: The suspects in the bomb blast outside Seville Bar and Lounge and Di’ora Club in Sector 26, Ajit and Vinay, received only ₹70,000 for this incident. The amount was sent to them by gangster Goldy Brar through his associate Randeep Malik, who is based in the USA. The motive behind the blast is reportedly linked to the club owners ignoring Goldy Brar’s extortion calls. The mastermind of the conspiracy, Randeep Malik, had been orchestrating this plan via the Signal app for the past month.
Randeep Malik had lured Ajit and Vinay with the promise of bringing them to the USA via Nepal. They were even asked to send photos to prepare fake passports. Before the incident, Ajit showed Randeep the situation at the club and bar through a video call. The blast was carried out only after receiving instructions from Randeep. The suspects retrieved the bomb from near the Karnal bus stand to execute the attack.
Following the blast, Chandigarh police examined CCTV footage from different locations in the city. The suspects were captured on camera in Mohali. The police traced their movements from the toll plaza to their entry into Haryana. After hiding their bike at the Saini Majra toll plaza, the suspects took a Haryana Roadways bus to Barwala. They then got a lift from a person named Sonu to return to their village. The police detained Sonu for questioning, which led to the identification of the suspects.
