Suspicious death of Nawanshahr youth in Canada, Had gone to Surrey on work permit two months ago

Jalandhar: 27-year-old Manjot Singh, a resident of village Kat near the town of Bahram in Nawanshahr district, died under suspicious circumstances in Canada. Peel Police of Canada has taken the body in its custody and started investigating the cause of death. Investigation of the case has started. Police has also informed the family members about Manjot’s death through the Indian Embassy.

Manjot’s family members told that their son had gone to Surrey, Canada on a work permit visa about two months ago. Manjot’s sister also lives in Toronto, Canada and his younger brother does farming with his father in the village itself. The family members said that their daughter has told them from Canada that Manjot had gone for a walk in the park outside the house.

When he did not return home for a long time, they started searching for him and informed the Canadian police. After some time, the Canadian police found a dead body near the park. The police called his sister for identification and the body turned out to be Manjot’s. The cause of death has not been ascertained yet.
