Himachal Pradesh: Attending the election rally of BJP candidate proved costly for a teacher. Taking action after receiving the complaint, the teacher has been suspended. After suspension, the teacher’s headquarters has now been fixed at Shillai.
According to the information, the matter pertains to a teacher posted on the post of Shastri belonging to Malgaon High School under Nahan assembly constituency. Recently, the District Election Officer received a complaint regarding the teacher through C-Vigil app. Allegations were made in the complaint that photographs of teacher Prashant Sharma had surfaced on social media in front of the election rally in the presence of State BJP President Dr. Rajeev Bindal, other leaders and candidate Suresh Kashyap.
The Election Commission started investigation and sought answers from the teacher. The teacher’s reply was not found satisfactory. After this, the Election Commission issued a letter to the Education Department regarding action against the above teacher for violation of the Model Code of Conduct. After this, the Deputy Director of Elementary Education Department also sought answers from the teacher concerned. When the reply was not found satisfactory, the education department suspended the teacher and fixed the headquarters at GSSS Shillai during the suspension period.

Pictures of the teacher of Government High School, Malgaon, along with BJP candidates and leaders surfaced on social media. After this the Election Commission received a complaint. Acting on the complaint, the teacher has been suspended for violation of the model code of conduct – Sumit Khimta, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Sirmaur.
Acting on the letter received from the Election Commission, Prashant Sharma, posted on the post of Shastri in Government High School, Malgaon, has been suspended – Rajeev Thakur, Deputy Director, Elementary Education Department, Sirmaur.
