Mumbai: During the promotional event for her upcoming film Odela 2, actress Tamannaah Bhatia delivered an empowering response when questioned about being cast as Shivashakti despite her ‘milky beauty’ tag.
A journalist asked, “Why did you think a milky beauty could be Shivashakti?” Tamannaah confidently replied, “Your question itself has the answer.” Pointing towards the film’s creators, she added, “He doesn’t view a milky beauty as something to be ashamed of. Glamour in a woman is to be celebrated, and if we celebrate ourselves, others will too.”
She further emphasised that a woman can embody divinity in various forms — glamorous, powerful, and lethal. “If we perceive ourselves positively, respect naturally follows,” she remarked.
Tamannaah’s statement highlights the evolving perception of women in cinema, where strength and glamour coexist.

Tamannaah Bhatia has carved a niche for herself across multiple film industries. Her role in the Baahubali franchise cemented her stardom. In 2024, her performance in the hit song Aaj Ki Raat from Stree 2 reaffirmed her appeal.

Odela 2, a sequel to Odela Railway Station, explores the story of a fictional village where Odela Mallanna Swamy protects his people from evil. The film, featuring Vasishta N Simha and Hebah Patel in key roles, is produced by D Madhu and Sampath Nandi Teamworks, with music by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. It is set for release on 7 April.
