Teen crushed to death by mini truck in Ludhiana

The collision was so severe that the boy died on the spot. According to ASI Kamaljit Singh, the investigating officer of PAU police station, the boy was going home after buying milk when this accident happened.

The driver of the mini truck absconded

It is being told that the speeding vehicle hit him so hard that there was no possibility of his survival. After the accident, the driver fled from the spot. The mini truck also hit a scooter going ahead, but the person riding the vehicle narrowly escaped.

Family members staged a protest

As soon as the news of the boy’s death spread, family members and local residents gathered at the accident spot and staged a protest, raising slogans against the police and the local administration. They expressed their anger over the lack of safety measures on the busy stretch of the road and claimed that accidents are frequent in the area due to reckless driving and the absence of speed control mechanism.

The protesters said this is not the first time such an incident has happened here. The authorities made no effort to install speed breakers or deploy traffic personnel. The protesters demanded immediate action against the driver and enforcement of strict safety protocols in the area to prevent further incidents.

Police caught the accused driver within a few hours

The police immediately took action and started a search operation and put up barricades at major checkpoints. Within a few hours, the accused driver was arrested. He was identified as Bir Prakash alias Kaka. The mini truck involved in the accident was also seized.

ASI Kamaljit Singh said that we took immediate action after receiving the complaint. The accused has been taken into custody and a case has been registered. Further investigation is underway to ascertain all the circumstances related to the incident.
