Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated multiple development initiatives worth Rs 76 crore at the Vemulawada temple in the Rajanna Sircilla district on November 20. Arriving by helicopter, he began his visit with a special puja at the Sri Rajarajeswara Swamy temple, also known as Vemulawada.
Before entering the temple’s sanctum sanctorum, he laid the foundation for various development projects at the Dharmagundam (Pushkarini). The priests provided insights into the ‘Sthala Purana,’ while also briefing him on the planned temple enhancements. Upon arrival, the Chief Minister was warmly welcomed by priests with a ‘Purnakumbha’ ceremony and participated in the ‘Kode Mokkulu’ ritual around the temple flagpole.
Later, he conducted special pujas, including Archana and Abhishekam for the deities Sri Lakshmi Ganapati Swami and Raja Rajeshwari Ammavaru. The priests offered blessings to him and accompanying ministers while chanting Vedic hymns.
Alongside him were ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, D. Sridhar Babu, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Konda Surekha, and Vemulawada MLA and Government Whip Adi Srinivas. Besides the temple projects, the Chief Minister also laid the groundwork for several other development works, including the Indiramma housing scheme for 4,696 displaced families of the Mid Manair Reservoir, valued at Rs 235 crore.
He inaugurated the construction of a yarn depot costing Rs 50 crore and road expansion from Mula Vaagu Bridge to Devasthanam, which will cost Rs 45 crore. A Bhoomi Puja for a new medical college and hostel block was conducted, costing Rs 166 crore.
Additionally, he laid the foundation for an Annadana Satram at Rs 35 crore, a high-level bridge in Konaraopet mandal at Rs 52 crore, and drainage works costing Rs 3 crore. The Chief Minister further laid the foundation stone for the SP’s office in Sircilla (Rs 26 crore), the District Library building in Vemulawada (Rs 45 lakh), and a working women’s hostel valued at Rs 4.80 crore.
