The temperature in Punjab has started rising once again. The highest temperature in the state has been recorded in Bathinda at 40.4 degrees Celsius, which is the highest temperature of this season.
The temperature recorded in various cities of Punjab is serious. Chandigarh recorded 38.0 degrees Celsius, Amritsar 39.2 degrees Celsius, and Ludhiana 38.3 degrees Celsius. Gurdaspur recorded a temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius, Patiala 38.4 degrees Celsius, and Pathankot 37.7 degrees Celsius.
The temperature in Ropar reached 39.8 degrees Celsius. While Ferozepur recorded 38.4 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department data, the temperature in most parts of the state is above 38 degrees Celsius, which is much higher than normal summer.
According to the 5-day warning issued by the Meteorological Department, there is no specific warning in the state on June 7 and 8, but the situation is likely to become severe from June 9. A yellow alert of heat wave has been issued in the southern districts of Punjab from June 9, 2025, which falls in the category of “stay alert”.
This warning is likely to spread to even more parts of the state by June 10. According to the Meteorological Department, heat wave conditions may become more severe in the southern and central parts of the state, where temperatures may reach 42-44 degrees Celsius.
