Punjab, Jalandhar: In a major accident was averted on Tuesday morning on the highway near village Gohawar in Goraya area of Jalandhar. A truck loaded with gas cylinders fell down from the flyover. There were about 342 cylinders loaded in the truck, but luckily there was no explosion and major damage was averted.
Truck collided with a gravel-laden tipper
According to reports, the truck was hit by a gravel-laden tipper coming from behind, causing the truck to fall off the flyover.
As soon as the information about the accident was received, the police of Goraya police station and ASI Jaswinder Singh of Road Safety Force reached the spot and started investigation. There was no loss of life in this accident.
Truck and tipper drivers blamed each other
In this regard, the vehicle driver Gurdayal Singh said that he was checking the tyres after parking the truck on the roadside, when a gravel-laden tipper coming from behind hit the truck. The collision was so strong that the vehicle fell straight down from the flyover.
On the other hand, tipper driver Sahil said that due to a tractor suddenly coming on the road, he lost his balance and collided directly with the parked truck. No one was injured in the accident, but both the vehicles were badly damaged. After the accident, there was a traffic jam on the road.
