Two security personnel killed in recent terror attacks in Balochistan

Pakistan: Two security personnel, including an officer, were killed in a recent terrorist attack in Balochistan, Pakistan, as reported by the publication Dawn on Friday, citing official sources.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) indicated that security forces, led by Major Muhammad Haseeb, were deployed on Thursday in Harnai district following intelligence reports suggesting that terrorists intended to target civilians. During the operation, the forces engaged the attackers, killing three of them. However, an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near the lead vehicle, resulting in the deaths of 28-year-old Major Haseeb from Multan and 38-year-old Havildar Noor Ahmed from Barkhan, according to Dawn.

The ISPR emphasized that the Pakistani security forces, together with the nation, remain steadfast in their mission to prevent destabilization in Balochistan, stating that the loss of these soldiers only strengthens their resolve.

In a separate incident in the Mangi area of Ziarat, unidentified gunmen stopped a vehicle and abducted two individuals. Their bodies were later discovered in a hilly area near Mangi Dam, showing signs of torture. The victims, who were identified by their national ID cards as residents of Punjab, were found after local residents alerted the authorities. Levies personnel took the bodies to a nearby hospital. The identities of the deceased are still being confirmed, and security forces have initiated a search operation to capture those responsible for the crime.
