Protest regarding Gas Factory in Jagraon

Protestors said will not allow polluting factories to operate.

Punjab: Under the leadership of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Dakonda, around one thousand women and men riding on one hundred tractor trolleys along with one hundred and fifty vehicles demanded public support to permanently close the gas factory. Due to which people’s livelihood is being lost.

This huge long convoy passed through the villages of the area echoing the slogan of closing the gas factory which is causing pollution in the villages like Kaunke Kalan, Dalla, Malla, Dehdaka, Manuke, Bhammipura, Basuwal, Cheemaan, Rumi, Akhara etc.

The same slogan was echoing in the fury march in which men and women were responding that factories polluting air and water would not be allowed to operate. During their address in various villages, Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Dakaunda District President Jagtar Singh Dehdaka, Block President Tarsem Singh Basuwal, Unit President Gurtej Singh Tej said that the matter is not limited only to Akhara village, four villages Bhundri of Ludhiana district.

Rajputs and people of Akhara in Mushakabad, Ghunghrali have been on the streets for a long time to get the polluting factories closed. Meanwhile, while appealing to the people in every village to boycott the voting, the farmers said that no party has shown seriousness on this issue due to which the disappointed people have finally decided to boycott the voting.

He said that instead of paying attention to the demands of the people, the government has started speaking the language of factory owners. Due to which they have lost faith in the state government. He said that after June 1, the struggle will be launched by calling a joint meeting of all the struggle fronts.
