Bhubaneswar: Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda has arrived in Odisha to take part in a national summit organized by the National Health Mission in Puri. The summit, which marks the 9th national gathering on Good, Replicable Practices and Innovation in Public Healthcare in India, will also see the release of the 16th Common Review Mission report.

The inaugural ceremony will be attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and State Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling. This two-day event is being held at the Swosti Premium Beach Resort in Puri.

Since its inception in 2013, the national summit has evolved into a key platform for sharing innovative practices supported by the National Health Mission. The National Health Innovation Portal (NHInP), launched during the Shimla summit in 2015, reflects the Ministry’s commitment to identifying and promoting effective practices and innovations in healthcare.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of the Ayush sector in enhancing holistic health and well-being. He chaired a review meeting aimed at strengthening its impact through research, innovation, and international collaborations. Nadda arrived in Bhubaneswar on Thursday for a two-day visit and received a warm welcome from Chief Minister Majhi and senior BJP leaders at the Biju Patnaik International Airport. After a brief meeting with BJP leaders, he traveled to Konark for an overnight stay before the summit.
