Mumbai: Urmila Matondkar, the actress and politician, proudly displayed her inked finger after casting her vote in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, emphasizing the importance of voting for the benefit of children and society. She shared a video on Instagram showing herself near the polling booth, dressed in a white shirt and earthy pants, posing with police officials. Her post urged everyone to participate in the electoral process, stating, “Please vote for yourself, your children, and your society,” along with several relevant hashtags.
Actor Sonu Sood was also seen in Mumbai near the Shiksha Bhawan area, where he encouraged citizens to vote, highlighting its significance for the country and declaring it a civic responsibility.
Farhan Akhtar, accompanied by his sister Zoya and mother Honey Irani, was spotted heading to the polls as well. After voting, Farhan showed off his inked finger to photographers and stressed the necessity of civic engagement. He said, “I urge everyone to come out and vote. It’s your responsibility as a citizen. Many people criticize Mumbai but say they didn’t vote; they shouldn’t complain. This is your opportunity to make a difference.”
Additionally, Farhan mentioned the need for more screens in the film industry, advocating for government support to create additional viewing venues to help meet content demand.
