Shimla: A youth died in a tragic road accident in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. The accident took place in Sanwari Dhank of Thana Bro area of Nirmand development block when two youths were going to watch a cricket match. On receiving the information, the police registered a case and started further investigation.
Vehicle dragged Ramesh for 12 feet
According to the information, Surjeet Thakur told in the complaint that he and his friend Ramesh Negi (who was a resident of Ghadoli village of Nankhari tehsil of Shimla district) were walking from Thachwa to Chati at around 1.30 pm. Meanwhile, a speeding vehicle coming from behind hit Ramesh. The collision was so severe that the vehicle dragged Ramesh for about 10-12 feet, causing serious injuries to him.
Referred to Khaneri Hospital
The injured Ramesh was immediately taken to Mahatma Gandhi Seva Medical Complex, from where he was referred to Khaneri Hospital. Unfortunately, he died during treatment. DSP Ani Chandra Shekhar Kayath confirmed the incident and said that the police have registered a case and started investigation.
