Mumbai: Punjabi singer Karan Aujla, known for his hit tracks like Tauba Tauba, White Brown Black, Admiring You, and Winning Speech, has addressed an unpleasant incident that occurred during his recent concert in London. The singer, who began his career as a songwriter before rising to prominence in the music industry, reacted to a fan throwing a shoe at him while he was performing live on stage, stating that such behaviour is “not in our culture.”
Weeks ago, a video of Karan Aujla losing his temper at a fan during the London concert went viral. The clip showed someone in the audience throwing a shoe at him mid-performance. In a recent interview with NDTV, the Tauba Tauba singer shared his thoughts on the incident. He emphasised his belief in respecting his fans, acknowledging that they are the reason for his success.
Commenting on the growing trend of audience members throwing items on stage, Karan remarked, “This trend of throwing weird things on stage is not in our culture and not our way of showing appreciation. All I ask for is respect; not just for me, but for every artist who gets on that stage.”
Recalling the incident, the White Brown Black singer explained that he was giving his all during the performance when the incident occurred. “As artists, we put our heart and soul into every performance and aim to create memorable moments for the audience,” he stated.
Despite the incident, Karan expressed gratitude towards the majority of his fans, who show their support in meaningful ways. “They sing along, they dance, they enjoy the music—that’s what matters,” he concluded.
Karan Aujla recently made headlines with his song Tauba Tauba from the Bollywood film Bad Newz. The 2024 comedy, which became a hit among fans, features Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk in leading roles.
