Shimla: The weather will remain bad in Himachal Pradesh for the next 6 days. During this time, light snowfall may occur in higher areas and rain in lower areas. An alert for heavy snowfall has been issued especially on February 4. Before this, Western Disturbance (WD) will be more active from tonight.
According to the Meteorological Centre Shimla, light rain and snowfall is expected in most parts of the state for two days on 31 January and 1 February. The weather will become clear in most parts of the state on 2 February. There are chances of rain and snowfall again from 3 February for the next two days.
Temperatures rise before snowfall
There has been a slight rise in temperature before the rain and snowfall. The average minimum temperature of the state has increased by 2.1 degrees from normal. The maximum rise of 5.9 degrees has been recorded in Manali’s temperature compared to normal. Similarly, the minimum temperature of Kalpa has also increased by 4.7 degrees from normal.
In January, there was 81 percent less rainfall than normal
Currently, there has been nominal rainfall and snowfall in January. This has disappointed the local people as well as tourists. Tourism businessmen are upset due to this. The effect of drought is also visible on the crops of farmers and gardeners.
The normal rainfall in the state is 79.1 mm in January. But this time only 14.7 mm of rain has fallen, which is 81 percent less than the normal.
Most areas including Shimla are cloudy since this morning
Talking about Shimla, light clouds have been present since morning. There is a forecast of light rain and snowfall in the higher regions of the state today. Especially after tonight, there may be rain and snowfall in the higher regions for the next 48 hours.
