New Delhi: As elections came closer in Delhi the Bharatiya Janata Party in its third part of manifesto promised to provide free of cost treatment to Delhi residents up to 10 lakh.
Addressing a rally ahead of elections Union Minister Amit Shah said, “My domestic helper came running to me and said he received a call saying all welfare schemes going on in Delhi will be stopped once BJP comes to power. When I said this was Arvind Kejriwal’s call, he was convinced it was all a lie.”
Taking a dig at Kejriwal over his health policies, he promised treatments up to 10 lakhs free of cost.
Amit Shah says, “Even though they opened those fake Mohalla Clinics. Where will you go if you need to get an operation done?… Arvind Kejriwal did not implement the centre’s Ayushman Scheme which allows the poor to avail treatments worth Rs 5 lakh for free… BJP will ensure you get free of cost treatment including the operations up to Rs 10 lakh, once you remove AAP-da and we come to power.”
Shah further accused the AAP convener of lying time and again saying, “They are spreading lies one after the other. Modi Ji has clearly said that no welfare scheme in Delhi will be stopped. We will fulfil all promises they failed to fulfil.”
He further said that while Kejriwal has promised to make Yamuna clean, he failed to keep his promises.
“He promised he would take a dip in a clean Yamuna River at the end of his term. Has the Yamuna been cleaned? Are the arrangements for Chhath Puja adequate? BJP workers immersed his effigy in the Yamuna today and even that fell ill. We will develop a Yamuna River Front in line with the Sabarmati River Front within 5 years,” Shah said.
Earlier on Saturday, Shah launched the third part of the BJP manifesto for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled for February 5.
