Amritsar, July 5: A 28-year-old youth, Jugraj Singh, was shot dead in broad daylight on Saturday in Channanke village under Mehta police station in Amritsar, Punjab. The attackers committed the crime openly in the village, which was completely captured in the nearby CCTV camera.
According to the information received, three unidentified youths arrived in the village on a motorcycle and opened fire on Jugraj Singh. The attackers were firing from very close range, due to which Jugraj Singh died on the spot.
Police started an investigation
After the incident, panic spread in the entire village. The people living nearby immediately informed the police. The Mehta police station reached the spot and started an investigation. The police took the body into custody and sent it for a post-mortem.
A case of mutual enmity
Police officials say that in the initial investigation, the case seems to be of personal rivalry, but based on CCTV footage and eyewitness statements, the matter is being investigated from all angles. A blockade has been put in place, and a search operation is being conducted in the surrounding areas in search of the three attackers. The police have assured that the accused will be arrested soon.
