    Light Rain, Thunderstorms Likely in Delhi-NCR; Air Quality Remains Very Poor

    New Delhi: Delhi-NCR is likely to witness generally cloudy skies on Thursday, with the possibility of very light to light rainfall during the morning and forenoon, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

    The maximum temperature across the region is likely to remain between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to hover around 25 to 27 degrees Celsius. Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad are likely to experience similar weather conditions, with intermittent cloud cover and the possibility of light showers.

    Thunderstorms, Lightning Likely in Parts of Delhi-NCR

    The IMD said rainfall in some areas could be accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Commuters have been advised to exercise caution, as wet and slippery roads could affect traffic movement in several parts of Delhi-NCR.

    Delhi witnessed light to moderate rainfall at most places and moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated locations on Wednesday. The rainfall was accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in some areas.

    Several parts of Delhi-NCR recorded significant rainfall during the period. Pusa received 51.1 mm of rain, while Pitampura recorded 64.5 mm. Mayur Vihar registered 12 mm of rainfall.

    Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad Weather

    Meanwhile, Noida is likely to witness partly cloudy to sunny conditions during the day, with the possibility of a thunderstorm in the morning. Humidity may add to the discomfort despite intermittent cloud cover. The broader monsoon activity is expected to remain active across Uttar Pradesh.

    Gurugram is also likely to remain cloudy, with sunshine appearing intermittently. A thunderstorm may occur in isolated areas during the morning, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 34 degrees Celsius.

    Faridabad is forecast to experience partly cloudy skies and a possible morning thunderstorm, followed by sunny intervals. The maximum temperature is expected to touch around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may remain near 25 degrees Celsius.

    Delhi Air Quality Remains Very Poor

    The air quality of New Delhi remained in the very poor category.

    Among the monitoring stations, Mundka recorded 132, Commonwealth Sports Complex 98, Sri Aurobindo Marg 95, Cantonment Area 34, Punjabi Bagh 135, Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range 83, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium 99, Narela 105, Burari Crossing 102, Jahangirpuri 159, Shadipur 70, DTU 107, NSIT Dwarka 86, Okhla Phase-2 108, Wazirpur 179, Chandni Chowk 133, Rohini 143, Bawana 207, Pusa 91, IIT Delhi 133 and Anand Vihar 329.
