Lineman Dies in Blast While Repairing Fault in Power Line

While repairing a fault in Udaipur, the lineman’s body was severely torn and fell from the pole along with a blast. The lineman’s leg was also broken in the accident. After the incident, people gathered outside Dabok Hospital until around 1 a.m. to protest the incident.

Tehsildar of Mavli, Dabok police officer Gopal Nath, XEN Rakesh Karan, along with family members and villagers, were present at the spot. The family insisted on calling the contractor to the site.

Afterwards, the villagers gathered again in the morning. After about an hour of protest, an agreement was reached when the contractor gave compensation of 7 lakh rupees. After this, the post-mortem process was started.

After all, who started the line?

Even on the next day, the officers could not say who exactly started the line in the matter. When asked, Pratapnagar XEN Rakesh Karan said, ‘This is a matter for investigation. The higher authorities will have it investigated. Only after the investigation report can we say who actually started the line.’ The XEN did not comment when asked about the contractor’s mistake.

The lineman’s body exploded with a blast
The incident happened in Tulsi Das Ji’s Sarai in the Dabok police station area on Thursday evening at 6:30 PM. Lineman Shokat Sheikh (42), a resident of Dhunimata, died suddenly due to electrocution while repairing a fault on the pole. They had climbed the 11KV line after shutting it down, but suddenly someone switched the electricity supply on from the GSS.

Due to which the body of the grieving Sheikh, who was fixing the fault, exploded with the explosion and fell down from the pole. One of his legs was completely broken. After the incident, the family had also alleged that inexperienced private persons from the village were hired in the GSS.
In Udaipur, a lineman died due to sudden activation of the line while fixing a fault in an 11 KV power line. With the blast, the body burst badly and fell down from the pole and one leg was completely broken. The incident took place at 6:30 pm on Thursday at Tulsidasji Ki Sarai in Dabok police station area.
