Liquor scam case: Arvind Kejriwal may present his arguments personally in High Court

A major update has emerged regarding the CBI case linked to the Delhi Excise Policy. Delhi’s former Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, Arvind Kejriwal, along with others, has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court. The petition seeks the recusal of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma from the case. Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court is scheduled to hear the petition filed by Arvind Kejriwal and the others today.

During this hearing, Arvind Kejriwal may personally appear before the High Court tomorrow to present his arguments.

Petition Filed in Delhi High Court
Specifically, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has stated that Delhi’s former Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, will personally appear before the Delhi High Court on Monday to present his case in a matter related to the alleged excise policy scam.

On Sunday, the party announced that Arvind Kejriwal, along with several other co-accused, has filed an application seeking the recusal of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma from hearing the case.

This application by the AAP leader was filed in response to a petition submitted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which challenged a lower court’s order acquitting Kejriwal in a case concerning his alleged failure to comply with summonses issued during the investigation into the liquor policy matter.

Court Acquits Kejriwal
It is pertinent to note that on January 22, the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi acquitted AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal in the case regarding his alleged non-compliance with summonses.

The court observed that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had failed to prove that he had deliberately defied its summonses. On March 30, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) approached the Delhi High Court to challenge Kejriwal’s acquittal in the summons-related case.
