Lok Sabha debate on pollution postponed due to uproar over VB-G. Ramji Bill

New Delhi: A proposed debate on the pollution crisis in the Lok Sabha on Thursday was postponed due to a strong uproar by the opposition. Opposition MPs were protesting against the ‘VB-G. Ramji Bill’, causing repeated disruptions in the House.

Papers torn, proceedings adjourned
Opposition MPs entered the well while Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was speaking, tore papers and threw them in the air. As the situation escalated, the Lok Sabha had to be adjourned.

Four-hour discussion postponed, debate may take place tomorrow
A four-hour discussion on pollution was scheduled, culminating in a response from Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav. Several MPs, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Bansuri Swaraj, were scheduled to participate in the discussion. The debate is now likely to take place on Friday, the day before the end of the session.
