Loud explosion outside Moga’s Sadar police station late at night; hand grenade blast suspected

Security agencies across the area were put on alert following an explosion at the Moga Sadar police station around 3:15 AM on Wednesday. According to sources, two youths on a motorcycle hurled a hand grenade outside the station, located on the Moga-Ferozepur Road, triggering a loud blast. Preliminary reports indicate that the grenade used was of low intensity; consequently, there was no major damage, and no casualties have been reported.

Main Gate of Police Station Closed
Police personnel present at the station at the time of the blast immediately informed senior officers. Subsequently, police officials arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and initiated an investigation. A forensic team was also summoned to the site and spent several hours collecting evidence. As a precautionary measure, the main entrance to the police station was closed, and a close watch was kept on activities in the vicinity.

However, senior police officers present at the scene did not officially confirm the hand grenade attack on camera. Nevertheless, the hours-long forensic examination and the activity of security agencies at the site indicate that the matter is being treated with seriousness.

Police Investigating
Sources state that the police are investigating all aspects of the incident. Footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being scrutinized, and efforts are underway to identify the suspects.
