Low intensity blast in Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir

Poonch : A low intensity explosion took place under suspicious circumstances late on Tuesday night in the street between the district hospital and the Gurdwara in Poonch city.

There was no loss of life or property, but panic spread throughout the area. Security forces have cordoned off the entire area and started a search operation.

However, it is not yet known whether this is a terrorist incident or not. In the initial investigation, it appears to be a country-made bomb blast.

Currently, the police have started an investigation. According to information, the people of the area rushed to Dahal after hearing the sound of explosion near Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital late at night. Hearing the sound, security forces also reached the spot.

They saw that there was an explosion in the street between the hospital and the shrine.

There are bullet marks on the wall of the shrine. After some time CRPF jawans along with SSP Poonch Jugal Minhas and District Development Commissioner Yasin Muhammad Chaudhary also reached the spot. The forensic team reached the spot and took the samples.

Police officials say an investigation is underway to find out how the explosion took place. Preliminary investigation revealed that it is a hand-made explosive material. In the last year and a half, there have been about four such explosions in Poonch district.
