Lucknow: On Thursday night, in Sector-E of Aliganj, Lucknow, advocate Shailendra Pratap Singh (40) committed suicide by shooting himself. He placed his licensed pistol against his temple and fired. He died on the spot immediately after being struck by the bullet. Upon receiving the information, the police and a forensic team arrived at the scene and collected evidence.

According to Inspector Dhruv Kumar, at approximately 10:30 PM, Shailendra’s sister, Shalini Singh, informed the Police Control Room that her brother had shot himself. When the police arrived at the scene, they found Shailendra lying in his room, covered in blood. His pistol was lying right beside him.

Family members informed the police that Shailendra had gotten married approximately two years ago. He had no children. On Thursday night, around 8:30 PM, the sound of a gunshot was heard coming from his room. When family members rushed into the room, they found Shailendra lying there dead.

The Forensic Science Team has taken custody of the pistol and other evidence from the scene. The police have not recovered any suicide note from the site. ACP Shashi Prakash Mishra stated that they are gathering information regarding the reasons behind the suicide by questioning family members and close associates.

Meanwhile, neighbors informed the police that Shailendra had had a dispute with his wife over some issue, following which he took this extreme step. However, the police have not yet officially confirmed this information.
