Lucknow Murder Chilling Details: Father strangled daughter to death, threw acid to conceal identity

The Lucknow Police have made a sensational revelation regarding the murder of a 16-year-old minor girl. According to the Lucknow Police, the minor girl’s own father, in collusion with a friend, killed her and subsequently threw acid on her face to conceal her identity.

The police have arrested both accused individuals. The father, Vijay Chaubey, told the police: “He was distressed by his daughter’s romantic involvement. He was forced to change rental accommodations repeatedly, and the family was also facing social disgrace.”

The girl had run away with Boyfriend a Year Ago

In August 2025, the daughter went missing along with her boyfriend. Although she was subsequently recovered with the assistance of the police and her boyfriend was sent to jail, the daughter resumed communicating with him even after his release from prison in November 2025.

Despite repeated attempts to reason with her, the daughter remained unwilling to listen. Consequently, the father hatched a plan in collaboration with his friend; he took his daughter to Barabanki under the pretext of a spiritual healing ritual (Jhad-phook) and murdered her there.

Furthermore, following the murder, he attempted to disfigure her face using acid to prevent the body from being identified. Subsequently, the father himself filed a missing person report for his daughter on the IGRS portal, prompting the Lucknow Police to launch an investigation into the matter.

Friend Also Aided in the Daughter’s Murder

DCP (East) Diksha Sharma stated that on April 16, Vijay Kumar Chaubey, a resident of Chinhat, Dhava, filed a complaint via IGRS regarding the disappearance of his daughter, Vandana Chaubey (16 years old).

During the course of the investigation, the police analyzed call records and interrogated suspects, leading to a shocking revelation. The investigation revealed that Vijay Kumar Chaubey had conspired with his friend, Abdul Mannan, to murder his daughter.

Attempt to Erase Identity Using Acid
The Lucknow Police stated that on April 13, Vijay and his friend Abdul Mannan rented a car and took his daughter out of the house under the pretext of taking her for a spiritual healing ritual. After stopping at a roadside eatery along the way, they reached Kursi Road in Barabanki late at night, where, in a desolate spot, they strangled the daughter who was sleeping inside the car to death.

The DCP stated that despite the daughter’s resistance, the two accused did not stop and continued to strangle her until she died. Once they were certain of her death, the accused poured acid on her face to conceal her identity. Subsequently, they attempted to dispose of the body in the Sharda Canal; however, upon seeing vehicles approaching on the road, they panicked and fled the scene. Meanwhile, to avoid arousing suspicion, they also filed a missing person report for their daughter through the IGRS.
