Salesman Beaten to Death with Iron Rods in Lucknow for Refusing Liquor Service; Youth Thrashed for Trying to Save Him

Lucknow: A salesman at a liquor shop was beaten to death with an iron rod in Lucknow. It is reported that a young man asked the salesman for liquor before the shop had officially opened. When the salesman refused, the youth beat him to death using an iron rod. A young man who attempted to intervene was also assaulted. The accused fled the scene as a crowd began to gather.

The incident occurred on Monday at 8:30 AM in Dhedemau village, within the jurisdiction of the Malihabad police station. The deceased has been identified as Ajay Jaiswal, alias Rinku, 35 son of Ramautar Jaiswal a resident of Syed Bada. The injured youth, Rajjan, is currently undergoing medical treatment.

Death caused by head injury

According to the police, the accused youth has been identified as Nanakke Kashyap (35), a resident of Dhedemau village. He resides in the immediate vicinity of the liquor shop. After committing the crime, he fled the scene. A search operation to apprehend him is currently underway. The investigation has revealed that the accused struck Ajay on the head multiple times with an iron rod.

As a result, Ajay’s head was split open. He collapsed to the ground and suffered severe blood loss, resulting in his death at the scene. The police and a forensic team are currently gathering evidence. Police personnel have been deployed to the site.

Villagers Allege: Liquor Sold Illegally Until Midnight

Local villagers have alleged that both country liquor and Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) shops in the area illegally sell alcohol late into the night. Furthermore, illegal canteens are reportedly operating in certain locations, where liquor is sold illicitly until approximately 12:00 AM. The villagers have demanded that the Excise Department and the local administration take immediate action to curb these illegal activities.
