Young Man Shot in Ludhiana Amid Rivalry; Two Accused Flee Scene

Ludhiana: Late Friday night in the Bhamian Kalan area of Jamalpur GTB Nagar, Ludhiana, a young man, Rifal Gaba, was brutally attacked by a group of miscreants due to an old rivalry. During the assault, one of the accused allegedly fired a gunshot, striking Rifal in the left thigh. The attackers then fled, threatening him further.

Incident Details

According to Ajay Gaba, brother of the injured Rifal:

• Rifal went to a nearby shop to buy yogurt around 10 p.m.

• Within five to seven minutes, Ajay heard noise and abusive language outside the house.

• Upon checking, he saw several men surrounding Rifal and beating him.

• During the altercation, Rajjat Verma pulled out a pistol and shot Rifal in the left thigh.

• Waryam Singh and Verma, along with companions, fled the scene.

Rifal was immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital and is undergoing treatment.

Police Action

The Jamalpur Police registered a case against the accused under serious IPC sections, including 109, 126(2), 351(2), 191(3), and 190.

Authorities are:

• Conducting continuous raids to apprehend the accused

• Examining CCTV footage to track the attackers’ escape route

Police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and efforts to arrest Rajjat Verma and Waryam Singh are in full swing.
