Ludhiana: Man Attacked with Sharp Weapon, Activa and Mobile Looted Near Jalandhar Bypass

Ludhiana: A man riding an Activa was allegedly robbed in broad daylight near Jalandhar Bypass in Ludhiana. Two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants reportedly intercepted him, threatened him with a sharp-edged weapon, and fled with his Activa scooter and mobile phone. Following the incident, the Daresi Police Station registered a case against the unidentified accused and launched an investigation.

Victim Attacked After Refusing to Hand Over Keys

According to the complaint lodged by Rupesh Kumar Sahni, a resident of Pritam Colony in Lohara village, the incident took place on June 12, 2026, when he was travelling on his Activa (Registration No. PB10KD-3283) to the Sabzi Mandi near Jalandhar Bypass to purchase vegetables.

When he reached the Jodhewal Basti Chowk bridge, two unidentified youths on a motorcycle allegedly came from behind, surrounded him and threatened him with a sharp-edged weapon. The accused demanded the keys to his Activa.

When Rupesh resisted, the assailants allegedly attacked him with the sharp weapon, causing injuries to his arms and waist.

Activa and Mobile Phone Looted

After the victim fell to the ground, the accused allegedly snatched his Activa scooter and Oppo K12x mobile phone before fleeing the spot.

The victim later approached the police and lodged a complaint.
