Youth shot dead, Another injured in Ludhiana bike attack; Gang rivalry suspected

Ludhiana, August 24: Late night in Ludhiana, Punjab, two youths riding an Activa were surrounded and shot by miscreants riding a bike at Sundar Nagar Chowk. One youth was shot in the back while the other was shot in several parts of his body. People rushed the blood-soaked youths to CMC Hospital. One youth died. The name of Kaushal Chaudhary’s gang is being taken in the viral post on social media regarding the incident.

According to the information, the name of the deceased youth is Kartik Baggan, a resident of Ghati Mohalla. His friend Mohan has been shot in the back. Mohan works as a car washer. This attack is said to be due to an old rivalry. About two and a half years ago, some people had fired at this youth. At that time, the youth was saved and the bullet hit his thigh.

According to eyewitnesses, the miscreants who came on the bike started firing at Kartik and Mohan, who were riding on the Activa. Firing in the middle of the road created an atmosphere of panic in the area. The youth sitting on the back seat of the Activa got shot in the back. Due to which the balance of the Activa got disturbed, and he fell on the ground.

The miscreants riding a bike surrounded the two youths and opened fire. The deceased Karthik was hit by around 6 bullets on his body. After committing the crime, the attackers fled from the spot.

After getting the information, the police and police officers of the Sundar Nagar police station reached the spot and started the investigation. The police have recorded the statements of Kartik Baggan’s family and started looking for the attackers. Till around 12:30 at night, all the people of Ghati Mohalla kept mourning in the hospital.

The postmortem of Karthik Baggan’s body will be conducted today. The police is also searching Karthik’s mobile data to find out who were after him.

Police claim that the case will be solved soon

In this regard, ADCP Davinder Chaudhary said that at present the statements of the family members of the deceased are being recorded. Police teams have started examining the footage of CCTV cameras installed around the incident spot. The case will be solved soon.
