Ludhiana: Gas cylinder leak triggers blast, Man suffers 70% burns

A tragic accident occurred last night in Gyan Chand Nagar, Lane No. 8, in the Lohara area of ​​Ludhiana. A man suffered severe burns when a fire suddenly broke out in the kitchen of a home while cooking.

The injured man has been identified as Gopal Mahato. Sanjay explained that Gopal Mahato works at a nut and bolt manufacturing company near his home. Last night, when he returned home from work, he began preparing to cook in the kitchen.

As soon as he lit the gas lighter, a loud explosion suddenly erupted. It is reported that the gas had already spread throughout the room due to a burst pipe in the gas cylinder.

The fire was so intense that Gopal didn’t have a chance to recover and was completely engulfed in flames. Hearing the explosion and screams, residents of the neighborhood immediately rushed to the scene. They courageously doused the fire and pulled Gopal out. The flames were so intense that Gopal’s flesh began to peel off.

Gopal was alone at home at the time of the accident, as his family lives in the village. With the help of local residents, he was immediately taken to Ludhiana Civil Hospital. Doctors there provided first aid due to his serious condition, but due to burns covering 60-70% of his body, he has been referred to PGI Chandigarh for further treatment. His condition remains critical.
