Lab Technician Goes Missing in Ludhiana After Leaving for Duty; Wife Suspects Abduction

LUDHIANA: The mysterious disappearance of a lab technician in Ludhiana has left his family deeply distressed, with his wife alleging that he may have been illegally detained by unidentified persons.

The case surfaced after the young man left home for work and failed to return. Based on a complaint filed by his wife, the Jamalpur police station has registered a case against unidentified individuals and launched an investigation.

Left for Duty, Never Returned Home

According to the complaint filed by Gurpreet Kaur, a resident of Guru Gobind Singh Nagar in Shimlapuri, her husband Sarvinder Singh alias Preet left for his night shift at Seerat Hospital in Shimlapuri on April 16, 2026, on his motorcycle bearing registration number PB10CP-9154.

She told police that she last spoke to her husband over the phone on April 17. During the conversation, Sarvinder informed her that he was on his way back home. However, he never reached home and has remained untraceable since.

Family Suspects Illegal Detention

Family members reportedly carried out an extensive search on their own but failed to locate him anywhere.

Gurpreet Kaur has expressed suspicion that her husband may have been illegally confined by someone for personal motives.

Police Scanning CCTV, Tracking Mobile Data

Following the complaint, Jamalpur police registered a case against unidentified persons under Section 127(6) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Investigators are currently examining CCTV footage from nearby areas and tracking mobile phone location data in an effort to trace the missing lab technician.
