Ludhiana Man Duped of ₹11 Lakh on Promise of FCI Tender, Two Booked

Ludhiana: A fraud case involving ₹11 lakh has surfaced in Ludhiana, where a man was allegedly cheated on the false promise of securing a transportation tender from FCI Jalalabad.
Following a complaint by the Director of Investigation, Punjab Bureau, Chandigarh, Salem Tabri police station has registered a case against two accused under Sections 406, 420, and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.
Tender Promise Turned Into Fraud
According to police, the case was registered after complaint number 1005-A/CC-1 was submitted on March 21, 2025, to the Punjab Bureau of Investigation in Chandigarh. After investigation, the complaint was forwarded to Salem Tabri police station on May 26, 2025.
Complainant Manveer Singh Dhaliwal, a resident of Kasabad village in Ludhiana, alleged that the accused assured him they would help him obtain an FCI transportation tender in Jalalabad.
₹11 Lakh Taken, Tender Never Received
The victim claimed the accused took ₹11 lakh from him in the name of arranging the tender. However, neither was the tender secured nor was the money returned.
After repeated delays and failed assurances, the complainant realized he had allegedly been cheated and approached authorities.
Two Mohali Residents Booked
Police have registered a case against Anmol Ratan Singh and Balkaran Singh Bhatti, residents of Phase 7, Mohali.
Officials from Salem Tabri police station said the investigation is ongoing and the exact role of both accused is being examined.
