Ludhiana Police arrest drug smuggler; Heroin recovered from possession

Police have arrested a drug smuggler in the Sidhwa Bet area of ​​Jagraon in Ludhiana district. Heroin was recovered from the accused’s possession. Police have registered a case against him and initiated further investigation.

The arrested accused has been identified as Raj Singh alias Raju, a resident of Baghia village in Sidhwa Bet. According to police, he was supplying drugs to villages in the area. Rajvarinderpal Singh, in-charge of the Gidderwadi outpost, stated that the police team was conducting a check at the bus stand in Kakar Tihara village during a patrol.

Accused arrested, heroin recovered

During the investigation, they received information that Raj Singh, alias Raju, was involved in a large-scale drug trafficking business. Based on the information, the accused was on his way from Baghia village via Patti Multani to the main GT Road, Kishanpura, towards Sidhwa Bet to deliver heroin. Acting swiftly, the police set up a blockade on the route indicated and apprehended the accused on the spot.

Police will take him on remand.

Heroin was recovered from him during the search. Police have registered a case against the accused at Sidhwa Bet police station. He will be produced in court and remanded to uncover the entire drug trafficking network.

According to the investigating officer, the accused, Raj Singh alias Raju, has previously been named in a drug trafficking case. Additionally, he was also arrested in connection with illegal mining.
