Elderly Man Injured After Falling Into 7-Foot Pothole on Neglected Ludhiana Road

Ludhiana: A road accident occurred due to gross negligence by the administration near the Tutian Wala Mandir in the Shivpuri area of ​​Ludhiana. A 68-year-old man, along with his electric Activa scooter, fell into a 7-foot-deep pothole on the long-deteriorated road. The victim had been riding his e-Activa scooter to buy household items.

The road near the temple was so badly damaged that he suddenly lost control and fell into a deep ditch. Passersby immediately showed courage and, after a great deal of effort, pulled him out of the ditch.

The accident has caused widespread anger in the area. The elderly man suffered serious injuries. People at the scene took him to a nearby hospital via e-rickshaw, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Locals Demand Immediate Repairs from Authorities

Residents claim the road has been a “death trap” for months, with daily accidents involving two-wheelers. Despite repeated incidents, the administration has not taken any corrective action. After the recent accident involving the elderly man, locals have urged the MLA and councillor to urgently repair and reconstruct the road to prevent further tragedies.
